Youth Development League, Champions once again

The final UK:A Youth Development League match of the season took place on Saturday
16th July and once again we came out on top securing the championship and
promotion at the same time.
This is the fourth consecutive year we have been promoted as champions, something
we should all be proud of. The list of athletes involved probably numbers close to 70
and given how competitive this division has been every single athletes contribution
counted.
A role of honour will be produced so at the very least a name check for all those
involved and perhaps something more tangible.
In the meantime thanks to team managers Paul Duxbury and Andy Vincent and our
regular officials; Helen Lockyer, Alan Powell, Louise Lockyer and thanks to Kim March
for standing in for me for most of the final match. The list of parents assisting is also
very long a huge thanks to you all, we rely on your support as rakes, tapers, and
retrievers.
We always emphasise that winning isn't everything and when the UK YDL assessor
praises our athletes sporting behaviour and politeness to officials then perhaps we are
getting matters right off the track as well.
