Hollie, Elliott and Rosa-May take Multi-Events and Quadkids Titles

The Hampshire county multi-event & quad kids championships took place at 'The Mountbatten Centre' on Bank holiday Monday with some great results for the club.

In the multi-event championships all held over a 5 event pentathlon, Hollie Thurgood took the U15 Girls title with a stong set of performances of 5 individual pb’s including an amazing 11.7 second pb in the 75mh and a time of 2:39.8 in the 800m to finish. Madeline Wilton was 5th and Amelia Stone was 14th after missing the last 2 events, Amelia achieved 3 PBs in her 3 events and Madeline Wilton also achieving 3 PBs. Well done to all 3 Girls

In the U13 Girls we did not get a podium finish but Isabelle Brydon was unlucky to finish in 4th position with 5 PBs and a total of 1788 points, only 73 points short of a medal. We also had a group of lower year U13 girls competing and all achieved great results with numerous PBs, Maya Kendall 9th, Gabriella Jones 13th, Bella Digby 15th, Hattie Locke 17th, Sadie Blake 18th and Jemima Batty 19th. Jemima, Sadie and Hattie unluckily only scoring on 4 events.

The future of the club appears in very good hands with some amazing performances in the girls quad kids championships with Rosa-May Sprake taking the U10 title (school year 4) in devastating fashion winning the Howler and LJ and achieving top performances in the 75m and 600m, Amazingly no PBs for Rosa-May so there is still more to come. In her 1st ever event Freya Evans was also very impressive winning the 75m sprint and achieving 3 good finishes in the other 3 events. We had 4 competitors in the the U11 girls (school year 5) category with Florence Yearsley finishing in 10th, Chloe Kendell 16th, Sadie Inman 20th and Felicity Brooks 22nd with lots of PBs to Boot. I'm sure all 6 girls will be ones to watch in the future

We only had 1 competitor in the U15 Boys category and 1 competitor in the U17 Men. Ben Cross and Callum Shea both achieved a podium finish in 3rd and 2nd position respectfully. Ben achieved 4 PBs out of 5 events and finished the day very happy indeed with a 3rd place finish. Callum also had a succesful day finishing in 2nd place overall with 2133 points and multiple PBs on the day. Congratulations to both guys

In the U13 Boys Elliott Evans produced one of the most impressive performances of the day in finishing 1st overall. The thunderous finish in the 800m stuck in my mind as what athletics is all about, true grit and determination to win. Cameron Walker Powell a lower year U13 performed fantastically to finishing in 9th position with 3 PBs on the day, well done to both boys

In the Boys Quad Kids Championships we had some very strong boys competing. In the U11 Boys Freddie Thurgood stormed to an impressive 5th position with Daniel Blake 13th and Unlucky Zac Williams with 3 No jumps in the LJ finishing in 18th. All 3 boys are sure to be stars of the future. In the U10 category Freddie Firth who was leading the coompetition for most of the day eventually achieved a podium finish with 3rd place overall. Mackenzie Van Laun supported this performance with a strong 8th place finish. All 5 boys achieving multiple PBs on the day
