Golden Girl - Serena Vincent takes National Indoor Shot title

Serena Vincent set a new Personal Best of 14.83m to win the National Under 20 Shot title at Sheffield, having previously taken the South of England title at Lee Valley last month. Two weeks ago, Serena finished 5th overall in the British Senior Championships. On that occasion, last year’s top Under 20, Sarah Omoregie of Cardiff A.C. piped Serena as the leading Under 20 at the championships, despite Serena setting her second Personal Best of the year. At the National Championships, another Personal Best was enough to relegate the Cardiff athlete to the Silver Medal position and place Serena at the top of the 2019 national rankings.
Serena's performance has earned her selection by British Athletics for the European Throwing Cup in Slovakia, competing in the U23 category. This follows competing in the Home Counties International at Cardiff next weekend to make it a busy few weeks for Serena.
