Early season for success for city club.

The summer track and field season is just around the corner early season open events started last weekend. The City Portsmouth had a squad of throwers at Crawley while many of the sprinters headed for Bracknell.

Crawley:

Star of the show at Crawley out of the throwers squad was Heather Cubbage placing first in the shot (11.92m) and hammer (46.72m) for U17 girls the best result though was a wonderful discus throw of 39.18m ranking her 2nd in the UK at the moment.  Brother William Cubbage also had a good day placing in the top 3 in the shot 8.18m, and discus 24.75. At the same meeting the club were well represented in the hammer event; Rosie Castle U23 38.1, Cerys Thomas U17 44.15, (also 26.12m in the discus), Tyler Pattison U15 boys 19.16m. additionally Tyler threw 7.52 in the shot, and 28.26 in the discus.

Bracknell.

Saw a collection of our sprinters heading for Bracknell insearch of some early season times unfortunately they all found themselves running into 4 mph head wind ! nevergood for sprinters.

In the 75m Rosa-May Sprake U11. 12.47 While in the 100m & 200m; Dougie Ness (U13 ) 14.44 29.98, Ella-May Sprake U15  14.4, 29.76 Sophie Brame U15 14,46,  28.72, Amelia Spry  U15 13.46, 27.73.
