BAL Trafford.
Alex Budds squad were on fire, real club performance from Zack 1500pb followed 20 mins later by an amazing 5K only 2 seconds away from his pb. Ed won the 800 and then a new sub 50 pb in the 400m Matt, second in the 1500m (that sub 4mins just around the corner.) Tom (W) amazing last 100m for 2nd place in the 800m B string and then repeated this position in the 5K.
Harry after late shift in Portsmouth with his ambulance crew on Friday travel up on Saturday for 2nd in the 100m and then new pb winning in the 400m 48 seconds and bits and then completed his day with wonderful relay leg.
Tom (F) still remains unbeaten in the pole vault for 3 years, Gavin 2nd B string 100m in his first competition for the club + new pb in the 200m. Young guns Callum and Matthew did their bit for the club in the 440 hurdles and triple jump plus solid relay legs. Even carrying an injury Ishael contributed to the clubs points total.
In the throws Dawid and Paul placed in the top three in every event
However, words fail me to begin to describe the contribution Adam Akehurst makes to the team, and our club over the years, once again he completed his usual 6 events where his solid performances contributed to our total points tally.
We missed second place by 4 points basically with a full team we would have come second. Specifically, 200m, 3K chase, B string 400H, 110H, Jav, TJ these events we were short handed or no competitors at all. This was a result of injuries, exams, distance from Portsmouth, externalities of all sorts.. As you see the guys above did a fantastic job almost every single athlete in first 2 of their event !! Next match Bedford if we come second, and then kill our last home match promotion is a real possibility.
