New look for our coaches.

Very soon you will see our regular coaches in distinctive light blue coats with equally distinct club badge. This not only helps identify coaches amongst the hurly burly of a training night for new members or parents of new members, but will also identify the wearer as a safe haven for young athletes in particular, as only those wearing the coats have satisfied England Athletics and the clubs criteria to be a recognised coach; current UK:A coaching qualification and clearance by DBS. Only those that have satisfied these conditions are insured to coach. Coaching by anyone else is entirely at athletes risk and cannot be supported by England Athletics or the club.
Although certain days and times are designate 'club nights'' these are open sessions and other clubs, other sports and private individuals can use the track at these times, by clearly identifying club sanctioned coaches we are exercising our duty of care towards our members. As open sessions Mountbatten Centre management have the right to exclude anyone coaching that is not suitably qualified.
There is a down side to this, we will be taking mug shots of all our coaches as they receive their coats, which will be displayed on club website and on notice boards.
